Work with Women - Inspiring Change

PICC has launched it's report Inspiring Change.  This is a study commissioned to examine the service provision available to women who have been subject to a custodial or community sentence, and how PICC might enhance and add value to that provision. Click here to download the report.

The BRIDGE Project

We are delighted to announce a year-long pilot project in partnership with Tribal and Just People/PACT. This project is in response to an initiative from Tribal to pilot a ‘Through the Gate’ volunteer mentoring service to prisoners serving a custodial sentence in HMP Exeter and returning to Devon or Cornwall, with an emphasis on addressing the barriers to employment.  It is anticipated that most prisoners referred will be serving less than 12 months in prison.

Belief in Change

Peninsula Initiative has been contracted by Devon & Cornwall Probation Trust to provide mentoring support to prisoners graduating from the Belief in Change programme at HMP Channings Wood.  Belief in Change is a NOMS pilot project currently running in just two prisons in the country and PI is delighted to provide ongoing support post release.

Launch of partnership with Turnaround Torbay
(Integrated Offender Management)

St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, Torquay hosted the launch event for the newly established partnership between the Torbay Integrated Offender Management (IOM) Turnaround team and Peninsula Initiative.  Under this pilot, PI will be providing mentoring to a proportion of the Turnaround clients to complement the comprehensive support that is being provided by Turnaround staff.
